Updates & Information
Another WIAA Sectional Championships is in the Books and the SM Athletes that competed had some very good performances.
Ken'Niya Williams qualified for the State Meet by placing 2nd in the 100 & 200 meters dashes. She also competed on the 4 x 100 meter Relay Team. Ken'Niya set a School Record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.49. It looked like she would have broken the Record in the 200, but the timing system did not get the time for the runners.
Other place winners were: Mirae Fitapatrick - 7th in the 100 meter Dash, and the 4 x 100 Relay Team of Samantha Kochiu, Ken'Niya Williams, Emily Lentz, and Mirae Fitzpatrick finished in 6th place.
The State Meet will be held on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Ken'Niya will run the preliminaries in the 100 & 200 on Friday afternoon and if she has one of the 10 best times in each race, she will compete in the Finals on Saturday.
The Track Banquet will be held on Friday, June 13 at the Knights of Columbus in South Milwaukee.
